Custom Ductwork Fabrication in South Dakota

Commercial and industrial buildings rarely fit off-the-shelf ductwork. Tight ceiling spaces, complicated angles, process exhaust and specialty environments all call for duct that’s designed for the space it’s going into. Howe fabricates:

  • Straight duct produced on our automated coil line
  • Seamless fittings and transitions cut on CNC plasma
  • Spiral ductwork, including oversized runs for high-volume airflow
  • Exhaust and process ventilation for manufacturing and industrial facilities
  • Curved, radiused and exposed ductwork for spaces where appearance matters

Don’t have a design yet? You don’t need one to get started. Many of our customers know they need custom ductwork but aren’t sure what it should look like. Howe’s engineers review your space, specifications, timeline and budget, then design a system that works with your building instead of against it.

Ductwork Fabrication built to smacna standards

Howe fabricates ductwork to SMACNA standards, the construction guidelines most commercial projects rely on. Published by the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association, these standards cover metal thickness, seams, joints, reinforcement and sealing based on how much air pressure the duct handles. For you, that means ductwork that holds its shape, minimizes air leakage and lines up with what your engineer specified.

Because we design, fabricate and install under one roof, your ductwork moves from concept to installation without handoffs between vendors. That’s especially valuable on large-scale new construction, where ductwork is fabricated alongside other building work. Paired with our design-build mechanical services and prefabrication, it helps keep your whole project on schedule.

Sheet Metal Fabrication for every environment

Galvanized steel is the standard for most commercial ductwork, but some spaces need more. Our certified welders work with galvanized steel, stainless steel, aluminum and black iron, and we can add finishes like brushing or plating to meet requirements for durability, surface friction and corrosion resistance. Specialty applications include:

  • Aluminum ductwork for indoor pools and high-humidity spaces, where moisture and chlorine rust standard steel.
  • Black iron grease ductwork for commercial and industrial kitchens
  • Structural and decorative elements, including curved and radiused surfaces.
