HOWE TRADES
Water is essential to life, and when it comes to delivering it safely – whether you know it or not – you are trusting a plumber. This is truly an essential career that the world could not function without. The evolution in this industry would surprise you. The things you picture when you think of “plumber” no longer apply to this career. Think of a craft where 3D modeling, precision layout, and working with your hands make a difference to support communities. This four-year program focuses on all aspects of this trade and the variety of things you need to understand to become a licensed journeyman, including testing for state and city licenses.
Comfort has become a part of life and every occupied building uses ductwork to distribute clean, conditioned air to keep us comfortable. In this four-year program you will learn the skills needed to take a hands-on approach to the fabrication and installation of duct work and installation of HVAC equipment. Sheet metal workers are true craftsmen and as you can imagine, technology takes center stage in this trade: from modeling to layout to fabrication.
As an HVAC service technician you will need a strong skill set to troubleshoot and diagnose complex systems and equipment. Our three-year Mechatronics apprenticeship provides training on electronics and mechanical systems so you will understand every component and system performance to confidently operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment of all sizes.
Fire protection systems save lives! Having a well-maintained automatic sprinkler system in place provides security by preventing property damage, injury, and death in the event of disaster. Look around commercial buildings and see the impact you could make with a career in Fire Protection. This self-paced program averages three to four years to complete.
After the Apprenticeship: A Day in the Life of Howe Plumbers
