Standard 1” air filters need to be replaced several times throughout the year. Installing an upgraded filter in your home that is thicker (4”-5”) offers greater surface area, reducing air pressure drop across it. This results in better air filtration, increased comfort, greater efficiency, and only needs to be replaced every 6-12 months depending on the conditions in your home. Air filters can also help the treatment of allergies and asthma.

Air Purification (Ionization)
Needlepoint bipolar ionization is a technical term describing air purifiers that typically require little to no maintenance and generate positive and negative ions. The ions flow through your home and attach to particles floating in the air. Depending upon polarity, particles can be disabled two ways. Ions can naturally destroy the energy source, hydrogen, becoming oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, or water vapor. Or, ions attach to the particle, making it easier to trap in the air filter. Pathogens, allergens, smoke, and odors are eliminated as well as viruses, bacteria, and mold.

Ultraviolet light works to eliminate airborne particles in the air as it passes through your ductwork. It also helps to reduce surface contaminants, such as mold on air conditioning coils, which can be redistributed throughout your home. An added bonus, activated carbon cells reduce airborne odors and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) for healthier air in your home.

Did you know that the recommended humidity level is 30-60%? Without a humidifier, humidity levels can be 15% or less in the winter. Humidified air helps prevent dry skin, static electricity, dry hair, and bloody noses. It also keeps belongings in your home, such as wood floors, cabinets, and pianos, in an optimum environment. Humidifiers also help eliminate allergens and pathogens in the air!

Cold and hot rooms in a home are a thing of the past with zone controls. Air zoning systems can be installed in your ductwork with dampers. Depending on each zone’s thermostat settings, the damper will open or close as needed to adjust to your comfort level. This may be able to reduce temperature differences between different levels of your home, or allow you to keep your bedroom at the perfect temperature.
